Hi, I'm Samantha Liles — a Doula, Military Lactation Counselor, and proud wife and mom of three. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, where I met my husband in high school. We married young at 19 and have built a beautiful life together with our three silly, strong, and amazing children.
My passion for birth work grew during our years as a military family. My husband served in the military, and as a military spouse, I experienced firsthand the challenges of deployments and separation. I became certified as a Doula when my husband was deployed and then became a certified MiLC (Military Lactation Counselor) and had the incredible opportunity to provide free lactation support through a breastfeeding chapter while living overseas in South Korea — a time I’ll always hold close to my heart.
Now that my husband is a veteran, I carry those experiences with deep respect and understanding. I believe no one should have to birth alone, especially those navigating life while their partner is deployed. Please ask me about my deployed spouse services — I would be honored to support you through your birth journey.
Inspiration
A little over 11 years ago, I discovered that I was pregnant with my son, Gabriel. For anyone who is newly pregnant, it can be overwhelming navigating the pregnancy and birth options. Because I wanted to make an informed choice about these topics, I decided to start researching everything I could get my hands on. After countless hours of reading and watching documentaries, I realized that this went far beyond curiosity. There was nothing more empowering than knowing that I had options and I was able to have a say in my prenatal care. I was provided care by OBs and Midwives throughout my first pregnancy. When it was close to my son’s birth month, I contacted a friend of mine to be my doula. I knew what I had envisioned for my birth, but a doula was so much more than what I had expected. Her emotional, physical, and even spiritual support helped me to stay confident in my body throughout my birth experience. There was a bond between us that wouldn’t be broken. From that point on, I knew that I wanted to help create that safe space for others!
